anyone else happy the JETS didn't get the chance to take McFadden

with all the work they have done to their line I really think Thomas can have another great year. remember he had 1,000 yards last year and he didn't get that many carries in the 2nd half last year as the JETS had to abandon the running game in the 2nd half's last year to try to play catch up

He's no McFadden. I would have welcomed DMc with open arms.

I think McFadden will be another Reggie Bush, good solid NFL player but nothing special

McFadden wasn't going to be brought in to replace Thomas Jones, he was just going to be a compliment. A good 1-2 punch.

Just like with Cedric Benson, McFadden will not sit on the bench long behind Thomas. You don't draft a guy in the top 5 to be a "1-2 punch" or the second running back. Thomas will get the majority of the carries this season, but unless DM gets a serious injury or even less likely shows he's not going to cut it, TJ will be making a move again in a year or so.

This is a hypothetical topic, Run DMC didn't get drafted by the Jets, he's a Raider. Thomas will be the go to back for at least another year in NY.

Year one and my statement looks good. lets see what will happen in year 2. I might eat my words but I still don't think he will be a "special" back.

Gilbert Godfried would have been a better pick than Gholston, another of those workout warriors taken way too high. Mcfadden hands down would have been a better pick even though he wasn't there.

I don't think he is even comparable to Reggie Bush. Plays with alot more power, and ran through the SEC instead of the Pac-10. Also wasn't playing for a powerhouse in a system that makes all of its players look great. I knew Bush wouldn't be shit coming out of college into the NFL, but I was real high on Mcfadden and still think he is one of the best backs to come out in awhile. Bush also went to a strong offensive team with a proven QB and and good bruising RB to spell him, and still hasn't done anything. Mcfadden went to the Raiders, was injured, and they had a terrible year with a team that had alot of holes. He'll go for 1450 yards this year. Write it down.
